TOWNHOUSE ON THE WATERFRONT IN PŘEROV
Dolkošová, Vendula ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
ANNOTATION The subject of this bachelor thesis is an urban and architectural design of the built up-area of the vacant lot near the intersection of Brabansko Malá Dlážka Street. The area is located on situationally exposed location by the riverside of the Bečva river with a view on the historical center of Přerov across the river. The area is also adjacent to the border of the protection zone of the city conservation area. The area in question offers a high concentration of opportunities for sports and recreational activities. Eastern bank is a recreational area connected to a city park and natural reserve. To the west, there is a large area belonging to the Sokol club. At the intersection, which is defined by a flume of a former water mill, lies a sports center „Mlýn“ with an adjacent parking lot. The surrounding area has a high sports significance, it is a hub of local bike, pedestrian and educational trails. Given the high popularity of cycling, a bike center has been chosen as an appropriate functional utilization of the apartement house. Five-story building is situated as a solitaire, the parcel area is an open space oriented towards the junction and the riverside road. From an architectonical standpoint, the building is shaped as a simple cube with a black coat of a smooth glass façade. The exterior is designed as a park with architectonical elements. The layout of the building is completely subordinate to the basic functions of the building, which will valorize the nature of the site: housing, bike center, service to the public. The building comprises of 12 small flats, a sports shop, a bike shop, bakery shop with snack-bar and an underground garage. The main structure is a monolithic of reinforced concrete, facade is a sandwich construction of inside wall, thermal insulation and black glass panels. The foundations, utilizing monolithic water-insulating tub of reinforced concrete, are influenced by a high level of underground water and a relocation of an existing pipeline route. Realization of the proposed townhouse will fill in the gap in services of the neighbouring facilities. Prerov is a city of cyclists. The main idea of the cycling center can be further developed. A realization of a wide network of bicycle stations serving as bicycle rentals "citybike" offers itself. The bicycles’ movement could be monitored electronically. Promoting cycling is in line with reduction of motor traffic in urban areas.

WHAT WAS THE SPACE? The space was behind the castle walls. A space in close vicinity of which a trade route to nearby Poland passed. A space with water propulsion. A space with the textile industry. WHAT IS THE SPACE? It is an inaccessible, deserted place. An empty space, where a skeleton of an old textile factory with buried water propulsion remained. WHAT IS THE SPACE SUPPOSED TO BE? It is supposed to be a place, where life is going to return. A place for the generations to meet at, relaxing and other leisure activities, but also a living place. A place, complementing the green ring of the city.

TOMEK’S SQUARE + CIRCUIT Bypass. Traffic. Cars. Chaos. Barrier. Will the project of new upper-level highway influence the functioning of Tomek’s square in a negative way? Will it become a big barrier which separates all of the surrounding into several isolated fragments? The urbanistic concept adds another local circuit to the Outer Brno Bypass which is designed especially for the pedestrians and which by its bright colour eases their orientation in such chaotic space. It also underlines all the attractive landmarks in the area - riverbank of river Svitava, Husovický hill, Sokol's sports grounds and new flea market situated under the bridge of Outer Brno Bypass. Centre of the circuit lies in Tomek's Square - current chaotic junction. TOMEK´S SQUARE – SPACE The concept works with idea of creating a new public space which the current Tomek's square lacks, it also reacts to its hectic situation by creating the oposite environment. Pedestrian circuit connects the surrounding areas, especially the new flea market linked to the new public space by lengthening supporting wall that defines borders of the flea market. TOMEK´S SQUARE – LIVING Composition of the corner footprint is inspired by the buldings in the current Tomek's Square. It respects its features by leaving the plan opened while clearly defining its inner courtyard. Therefore a new form consisting of four standalone buildings is created. Three of the objects serve as student's residence. They are connected by terraces with outdoor sport facilities. The fourth one serves as a hostel, an affordable option for temporary living. All of four objects' back sides are facing the new highway while being completely open on the opposite facade using balconies.
Nábytkový prvek pro multimédia
Houšťová, Hana
The diploma thesis focuses on the creation of a furniture element for multimedia. The current market offer in this area, addresses the placement of electronics in furniture in several ways. It can be a separate placement of electronics in an acknowledged visible form, or placement in furniture so that individual devices are not visible. The latter option is more common on the market. The hiding of the equipment is mostly done with wooden fronts, which have to be folded or opened so that the electronics can be operated afterwards. One other option is to place the elements behind a glass front, which allows the signal throughput of the drivers but is not suitable for storing speakers. In this thesis, the use of a sound textile is offered as another possible option, which solves the problem of the signal throughput not only of the drivers but also of the sound propagating from the speakers. The use of these fabrics in conjunction with furniture is not common in the Czech Republic. In the prototype, solid wood and textile are combined with newer modern technology to create a harmony between traditional and modern materials.

Index listové plochy solitérů a liniových výsadeb dřevin
Binková, Tereza
Abstract Bachelor thesis Leaf area index of solitaires and line plantation deals with the findings of LAI in selected line plantations and solitaires with direct and indirect methods. For indirect method of leaf area index measurement two instruments were used these are: 1) LAI-2000 PCA (LiCor, USA) as a world use standard and 2) LaiPen LP_100 (PSI, ČR) as a new parallel instrument, which is similar to the one mentioned above, however, more easy to be used in practice. As direct method of comparison method of litter traps was used. The aim of the work was to evaluate if above mentioned instrument based on indirect method are usable to determining LAI of line plantation and solitaires in landscape. The results showed that used indirect methods are probably not suitable for LAI estimation of solitaires and line plantations mainly because of great influence of synoptic situation. In addition, the selected direct method also does not reach required accuracy, because of influence of wind, which affects the amount of litter in traps. Due to these serious reasons it is recommended to use different direct, semi-direct or indirect methods.
